I've got a head full of ideas, sites, projects and apps that I'd like to try, but time as always is against me. This page lists the completed personal projects (all one of them at this point!) that I've undertaken. Hopefully I'll be able to get the rest up here soon enough!

PhoneBlogz

A few years ago I had an idea - I realised that technically it would be pretty easy to dial a number from any landline or cellphone, get the caller to leave a message and then post that message as an MP3 file on any blogging system that supports a common API. The result of this is PhoneBlogz which has been running for some time at http://www.phoneblogz.com.

PhoneBlogz supports several common blogging software systems such as Drupal, WordPress, Serendipity and Blogger, as well as allowing FTP uploads. The public API (yet to be documented!) allows any developer to hook in to PhoneBlogz to download the MP3 files and deal with them as appropriate. PhoneBlogz will also allow users to obtain their own dedicated phone number in the majority of the world's countries.

Battery Left

Battery Left is an Android application that attempts to figure out how much time is left before your battery goes flat. It employs several AI algorithms to learn how you use your phone and allows many visual customizations to the look of the home screen widget. The app can be downloaded from the Android Market. Further information is here: http://preinvent.com/batteryleft.
