Android "Fragmentation" - what's it all about?
Anyone keeping track of Android will no doubt have read about the apparent fragmentation issues with the Android platform. But what does this really mean?

Apple vs Adobe - it's the third party that suffers
Apple complains that Adobe's Flash is buggy and a resource hog. Adobe rebuts by saying that Adobe don't give them access to the graphics API. Apple open up the API. Each side starts up marketing wars against the other.
At the end of the day, neither Apple nor Adobe are really going to lose out on anything here - it's the end user (the most important player of all) who will suffer.
Subversion Visual Studio plugin - AnkhSVN
Just stumbled across AnkhSVN - a fantastic plugin for Visual Studio that integrates Subversion into the IDE itself.
I've used a few similar systems in the past, but this one is free (under the Apache 2.0 license) which makes it even better!

Whilst fighting with a Mac today to test a website, I suddenly realized why I find most Apple products a hassle to use - they hate buttons.

Open vs Closed development
Open source is great, and we all know and appreciate that. Not only are open source projects (generally) free, they pave the way for thousands of developers around the world adding their personal talents to create a better solution.
However, several projects I've recently worked on have made me think about the benefits in more detail.
